Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka is Belarusian born in Minsk. Sergey his father (who died in the year 2019), was an ice-hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka's career began in Minsk Belarus, on 5 May 1998. Her career has seen her had 12 WTA singles titles, including the Grand Slam at the 2023 Australian Open. In addition, she's an outstanding doubles player. She has won two Majors to her name in this area, the US Open 2019 and the Australian Open 2021 won both together with Elise Mertens. Together with the Belgian tennis player, she was also the winner of her the WTA 1000 in Indian Wells as well as Miami in 2019, thus completing the Sunshine Double. The feat was made possible by four couples in the women's doubles. In the month of January, 2023, she was ranked the highest in singles. In the 23rd of August in 2021, she shot up to number two in the ranking. After winning the Melbourne doubles competition in February of 2021, she was able to move up the rankings to be the number one player for this particular area. Her coach was an ex- Russian tennis player Dmitry Tursunov from 2018 until the conclusion of the 2019 season, and then again in the first quarter of 2020. The pair also briefly worked with Dieter Kindlmann in August until September of 2020. Antonio Dubrov, her fellow countryman has been her coach from the year 2020. Her greatest idols are Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.
